Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Edgity ("we", "our", "us", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our sports analytics application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

3. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve our service:

• Email address — used for account creation and authentication
• Account preferences — your selected leagues, sports, and notification settings
• Usage data — which matches and markets you view within the App, used solely to improve our prediction models. This data is aggregated and not used for individual profiling
• Subscription status — whether you have an active Basic or Pro subscription, provided to us by the Google Play Store
• AI Assist messages — questions you send to the in-app AI Assist, together with the statistical context of the match you are viewing. See Section 8 for details on how these are processed and retained

We do not collect:

• Payment card data or financial account information (handled directly by Google Play)
• Your actual placed bets or wagering history
• Real-name identification, address, or phone number (unless you voluntarily provide it via support email)
• Location data (GPS, IP-based geolocation)
• Contacts, photos, or other device content
• Time zone offset — your device's UTC offset is sent with requests so match times display correctly in your local time. This is not used to determine your location and is not stored with your account

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Art. 6)

We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — for account creation, authentication, providing subscription services, and operating the AI Assist feature
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for improving our prediction models, debugging, and ensuring service security
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for optional features such as push notifications, which you can enable or disable at any time

• To authenticate your account and provide access to App features
• To process and verify your subscription status
• To improve the accuracy of our statistical models (using aggregated, anonymized usage data)
• To generate responses in the AI Assist feature
• To provide technical support when you contact us
• To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the App

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing.

6. Data Storage Location

Your personal data is stored on Google Cloud Firestore servers located in europe-west3 (Frankfurt, Germany), within the European Union. Our backend infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Run in the same region.

Some processing involves transfers outside the EU — in particular, AI Assist messages are processed by Anthropic (see Section 8). Such transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under GDPR Art. 46.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide the App:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) — secure user authentication. Privacy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Google Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) — encrypted database storage in europe-west3
• Google Cloud Run (Google LLC) — backend infrastructure in europe-west3
• Google Play Store — subscription processing and payment handling. Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy
• Anthropic PBC — powers the AI Assist feature. See Section 8. Privacy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy
• API-Football (API-Sports) — public sports statistics and fixture data used by our prediction models. No personal user data is shared with this provider.

8. AI Assist Feature

The App includes an AI Assist feature that answers questions about the statistical context of a match. This section explains how it handles your data.

• What is sent: the text of your question and the statistical context of the match you are viewing (team form, model probabilities, odds, and similar public sports data)
• What is not sent: your email address, account identifier, subscription status, or any other personal identifier. Your questions are transmitted without information that identifies you
• Who processes it: Anthropic PBC (United States), the provider of the underlying language model. Transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses under GDPR Art. 46
• Retention: AI Assist conversations exist only for the duration of the match you are viewing. When the match finishes, the conversation session is automatically deleted from our servers. A maximum retention window of 4 hours applies as a technical safeguard

Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information into the AI Assist. It is designed to discuss sports statistics, not personal matters.

9. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active
• Inactive accounts: If you have not logged in for 24 months, we may delete your account and associated data
• AI Assist conversations: Deleted when the relevant match ends; maximum 4 hours
• Account deletion: You can request deletion at any time. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (e.g., billing records for tax purposes)
• Aggregated/anonymized data: Data that no longer identifies you may be retained indefinitely for model improvement

10. Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time:

• By email to edgity.app@gmail.com from the address associated with your account
• Via our account deletion page: edgity.app/delete-account

Your account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of the request. Note that deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription — you must cancel it separately through the Google Play Store.

11. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

• Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of your personal data
• Right to rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data
• Right to restriction (Art. 18) — limit how we process your data
• Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Right to withdraw consent — for any consent-based processing, at any time

12. Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Hungary, this is:

13. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• All data transmission encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Data at rest encrypted by Google Cloud Firestore
• Strict access controls and authentication via Firebase Security Rules
• Regular security audits and dependency updates

However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but commit to taking reasonable measures and notifying you of any data breach within 72 hours, as required by GDPR Art. 33.

14. Children's Privacy

Edgity is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at edgity.app@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

15. Sports Analytics Disclaimer

Edgity provides statistical analysis and probability calculations for sports events. The App is not a gambling platform — we do not facilitate, accept, or process bets, and we do not link to bookmakers. However, the analytics provided may relate to gambling activities, which are restricted to adults (18+) and may be regulated or prohibited in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for complying with local laws regarding sports betting.

Statistical models cannot predict outcomes with certainty. Nothing in the App constitutes financial or betting advice.

If you have a gambling problem, please seek help at gamblingtherapy.org or your local support organization.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent version. Continued use of Edgity after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
