What AI Assist does (and what it doesn’t)
What it looks at
For a match, AI Assist works from the same data the match page is built on:
- the model’s probabilities for each outcome
- recent form of both teams
- line-ups and missing players, once they are known
- the weather at the venue
- the reference odds, shown for comparison
- during a match: the live score and live statistics
What it does
- turns statistics into context you can follow
- points out the main factors behind the numbers
- explains why the model leans one way
- says when a match is uncertain
What it doesn’t do
- It doesn’t recommend bets or call anything “safe”. Asked for that, it says it doesn’t give betting advice.
- It doesn’t promise outcomes. A team “having the edge” means the probability favours that team, not that it will win.
- It doesn’t override the model or invent its own numbers. If something isn’t in the data, such as a line-up that hasn’t been announced, it says so instead of guessing.
Before an answer reaches you, it is checked automatically for things it must not say. If it fails the check, it is written again.
A real example
Lille v Lens, Ligue 1, 30 October 2026. The question was asked in the Edgity web app the day before the match. At that point the match page showed Lille 29%, draw 24%, Lens 46%, and about 2.9 goals in total.
Question: What are the main factors behind the model's numbers for this match?
The model favours Lens slightly at 46%, with Lille at 29% and a draw at 24%, mainly because Lens's away record is stronger than Lille's home record when looking at goals and expected goals from last season. Playing at Stade Pierre-Mauroy does help Lille through the usual home advantage in Ligue 1, and Lens's recent defending has been weaker than its season average compared with Lille's, which keeps the match competitive. The model expects around 3 goals in total, with both teams likely to score and the result open across all three outcomes.
